how does your garden grow?

why is it that on the days that i have prayed specifically for patience in the morning {before the day even gets going} i am tested beyond my wildest nightmares dreams?

that's how this friday is going so far. 

one thing right after another. it's almost laughable. almost, but i'm not. quite. laughing.

but these pictures i took yesterday from my beds make me HAPPY.

can you believe that god has such an imagination? i love watching flowers {and strawberries... and whatever else...} grow from a bulb to a bud to a bloom.... sometimes i think the way that my brain works {the creative way} is 'good-for-nothing'. but then i see this and think that our loving father is the creator of all imagination and beauty. how could he ever have dreamed this up? flowers that are all different. all unique. every last one.

and flowers that turn into fruit. or vegetables... or herbs. 

i mean, how can i think that creativity is good-for-nothing??

excuse me while i go wrangle the supposed-to-be-napping 3 year old that i hear above me jumping on his bed.

it's been super rainy here.

but it a good, mellow-me-out and cozy sorta way.

oh. and did i mention it's been cold too? makes it even cozier, if you ask me. cold as in - i had to turn the heater on in the morning cold! fun stuff. right when the pool is supposed to open.

and it's going to be 90 on tuesday. 

wha-at? 

only in texas, i guess. 

anyway. i've been spending a lot of time on my "new" front porch lately.

i guess new is a relative term.

i'm going to try to dig up some before pics. and take some good after ones. {you know i love a good before & after, don't you?}

we took out three bushes that were blocking our view of the street.

i added some chairs we had in the back.

and pillows. and a table that was spray painted by yours truly and my mom.

it's just right for some quiet time in the morning. {when it's not cold & rainy, of course...}

oh. and i got a hydrangea!!! i love these {along with peonies} but they've always scared me because i feel like they're high maintence in texas. 

we shall see. i'll let you know when it blooms.

i think it's blue. 

{did you know you can change the color by adding coffee grinds to the soil? or so i'm told....}

i love spring time. i love summer.

that reminds me. i must start making our list. 

i think this year's will be really fun. yaya. 

and i'm SO behind on project life. 

i haven't even finished a complete week. i have a lot of partial weeks. 

i may just scratch it and start over with april. hmmm. that's a thought.

part of the problem is that i did not spring for the actual kit. i got a few little things and thought i could do the rest myself. in photoshop.

and yes, maybe i could. but i've learned that doesn't mean that i should.

get it? do you struggle with stuff like that too? nope? just me?

thought so.
