jack carter.

our summer list is WELL under way!

it's only the middle of june and we've checked SEVEN things off our list.

plus we have plans to mark two more things off by the end of this week. woo-hoo!!!

{the list is SO much better than last year. but i fear i've created a monster. every morning b. wakes up and asks "what is on the list today?" hahaha...}

one of the FIRST things we put on the list this year {and last year} is JACK. CARTER. POOL.

if you live anywhere near plano, you must go.

it's awesome.

we've already been twice. but the first time i didn't get pictures.

this time i had to FORCE my camera out of the bag when we were leaving to document.

it's not easy being at a concrete pool with two kids.

{actually, i really don't worry too much about brady here since it's so shallow and - did i mention - fenced in! but charlotte wants to sit up and then decides to roll over. she's getting really good at the transition so she doesn't 'fall' down... but i don't trust her on concrete yet!}

oh - and don't worry that i ended up at the pool with everything BUT lil' miss's bathing suit. so we sat in the water in just her swim diaper. ni-ice.

jeff would have died.

oh - and it NEVER fails. when we get back in the car {no matter how many times i've asked} b. always says he has to go tee tee. by the time i turn around - he's going in the grass. yay!

what a high-class family i'm raising! {only kidding!}

ranger fever

last sunday night, my sister had scored VERY coveted tickets to a ranger game through work. she asked jeff and i if we'd like to go - and we immediately jumped at the opportunity... since it was the last game of the angels series...

let me preface this post by saying that jeff is a huge rangers fan. they've let me down too many times over the course of 15 years that i'm off and on. we had season tickets growing up - in left field, right behind my favorite player - rusty greer. but EVERY year, without fail, we choked. thus, i usually don't watch {or care} about the first half of the season - and then the second half - after the all star break - we usually go down hill anyway. there are just TOO many games.

well - since my sweet husband and precious son are super into the season, i've ended up getting into the season as well. {despite my best efforts not to!} the problem is that now i'm invested... and i can't end up where i was three years ago while preggo - crying after the cowboys lost a playoff game.

but to no avail - i'm into the season.

we had awesome seats {15th row behind home plate} and it wasn't terribly hot. katie had a parking pass so we didn't have to walk too far {thank goodness}.

the skateboarding dog 'threw' out the first pitch.

we even spotted some our very favorite people before they announced they were there. {do you see them? very front row next to the dugout??? so exciting!}

we even won. we took the series 3-1. now.... if we can just keep winning.

after the game was over, we saw all of this commotion outside. it was the skateboarding dog!! the one from youtube!! he was sooooo cute - and he actually steered the skateboard!

jack carter - again.

one of our very favorite summer spots is jack carter pool in plano.

i'm pretty sure i've blogged about it SEVERAL times before.

jeff grew up going there - twenty years later, they are now minus a high dive and plus an awesome kiddie area!

last week we met b's friend pierce there.

pierce would go down the tunnel slide all by himself.

b waited at the bottom and gave big high fives.

{remember, he's still scarred from daddy forcing him down the tunnel slides @ hawaiian falls!!}

pudding pops

last week we made pudding pops.

brady thoroughly enjoyed the process.

and he loves the pops.

he told me what colors he wanted - and then would try to eat them in a certain order {for unknown reasons}. pretty cute stuff.

hawaiian falls.

every summer, our church has a special deal on wednesday nights from 5:30-8:30 at the local water park - hawaiian falls. we went last year and had a lot of fun - but pretty much stayed in one area as b. was still pretty small.

{snack time.}

not the case this year. i was on my feet for 3 hours trying to keep up with the little man.

our friend caleb splashing in the water.

we had a blast - and the pictures really don't do it justice. we're hoping to make it one more time with daddy before the summer is over.

spring creek farm

on wednesday morning, i realized that it's the middle of july and we haven't even made a dent in our summer list. so brady and i looked it over to see what we could do.

we decided to head on over to owens spring creek farm in richardson, and we asked julie, sydney and harper to join us. i knew sydney would be old enough to enjoy it - and whatever she does, brady isn't far behind her, so i thought that would help him branch out a bit.

brady and sydney with their 'feed cups'. i had to be real convincing with b. that it wasn't his food.

this is b's reaction after the goats realized we were there - with food.
as soon as they jumped on the fence - he started crying.

sydney was pretty brave with the goats - they can definitely be scary... and that made brady warm up to the idea....

a little bit.

i fed the goats. i wasn't afraid.
it is kind of icky though.

this is all brady wanted to do.
transfer the feed from one cup to the other.

then they spilled on the ground.

finally getting close. but not close enough for the goats.

mr. joe then took us on a hay ride around the 'field'.
{and i use the word 'field' loosely}

i love sydney's curls in this picture.
all natural.
and look at b. in the background trying to be just like syd.

brady loved the roosters. every time they crowed his eyes would get really wide and yell "yeah!!"

we had a fun time -maybe not exactly what julie and i expected - but the kids had fun. and it wasn't too hot since we went way early in the morning. i'm sure there will be many a field trips here during our school years.
