destin. part one.

we left at 9:00. 9:00 at night.

and drove through the night. in one car. all six of us. with a u-haul on the back. 

i took a tylenol pm around 10 and was out until the sun came up around 6. it was the best car ride to destin ever. i don't know if it was the tylenol or the being smushed in the very back seat... but needless to say i wasn't near as grumpy as i normally am. 

and then - we stopped at the donut hole. yummmy. for a gigantic omelet. and coffee. glorious coffee....

we dropped off the u-haul.

got groceries at target.

checked in to our yet-to-be-ready house. so we left our luggage in the garage. changed into our swimsuits and hit the beach for a few hours before dinner.

for the first night we went to one of our FAVORITES. right on the beach.

we had an awesome table this year. right on the beachside. 

the boys ate {is it technically ate when you don't even chew?} raw oysters. yuck.

and i scored big with my firecracker shrimp. perfectly cooked. perfectly spicy. perfect.

as i've been going through my pictures this year, i have to say that i'm sort of disappointed that my camera was not attached to my hip this year. i didn't get as many candids as i normally do. 

but it's okay - because i had a great time. i enjoyed my time. just sitting. not even reading, really. we spent a lot of time in the ocean this year. jumping the waves. playing frisbee. floating. avoiding the gigantic jellies. {that were actually few & far between...}

so i will choose not be disappointed in the amount of pictures. i will relish my memories... sappy? yes. reality. yes. 

i heart the beach. can't wait to take my littles in a few weeks. love.
